Levien van Zon is a theoretical biologist and environmental scientist, who currently works as a freelance researcher and writer on subjects related to sustainability. Additionally, he does research & development at LENS (Local Energy Systems and Networks), a small company that develops products and projects involving solar energy and smart energy solutions, and he is involved as a volunteer with Ecosystem Restoration Camps.
